Dental Veneers Bury St Edmunds

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They are typically made from porcelain or composite resin and are bonded to the teeth to correct issues such as discoloration, chips, gaps, or misalignments.

The benefits of veneers

Veneers provide a natural-looking, durable solution for enhancing the colour, shape, size, and overall aesthetics of teeth. The procedure is minimally invasive, usually requiring little to no removal of tooth structure.

Our experienced dentists at Sycamore Dental can use veneers to close gaps and improve the shape and contour of your teeth. Veneers are highly versatile and can cover up many flaws in your smile.

The process of getting veneers

The initial consultation

At your first visit your dentist at Sycamore House Dental will discuss your options and help you determine if this treatment approach is suitable for you. Once you have decided that this treatment is right for you, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth to start planning the procedure.

Planning & Review

Your dentist will show you a 3D model of your teeth or sometimes will be able to directly build a mock up veneer directly on your tooth to help you visualize the final result. This is completely painless and totally reversible. Once you are satisfied, your dentist at Sycamore Dental will take some photographs and a simple impression to record the shape of your veneers.

Tooth preparation

Your dentist will carefully numb your teeth, and a thin layer of enamel will be carefully shaped over the front surface of your tooth. Our experienced dentist will also take impressions and photographs at this visit. The tooth will be fitted with provisional veneers.

Making your veneers

The impressions and photographs are delivered to our specialist, partner dental laboratory and the technician will start making your custom porcelain veneers.

Veneer placement visit

Your dentist will numb you up before carefully removing the provisional veneers, the teeth are cleaned, and your new veneers are placed on top of your teeth but not yet bonded. This allows you to confirm that you are entirely happy with the appearance and colour. Once you are happy, the veneers are permanently cemented with a special resin and carefully cleaned. You can start using then straight away.

Dental Veneers FAQs

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 20 years, while composite veneers typically last less, around 5 to 7 years.

Veneers are not reversible because a small amount of enamel is removed to fit them. However, they are durable and can be replaced if needed.

When done by an experienced dentist, veneers are crafted to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, creating a natural and aesthetically pleasing smile

The cost varies depending on factors like the material used, the number of teeth being treated and the overall complexity of the case. Every cosmetic case is different in subtle ways and your experienced dentist at Sycamore House will take the utmost care to plan your veneers.

You should treat your veneer like a normal tooth. This means brushing and flossing daily to reduce the risk of getting decay and keep the gum healthy. At Sycamore House Dental we recommend that you schedule regular hygiene and check-up visits. Your dentist will recommend a review interval that suits your specific needs.
