Founded in 2002 by Dr Hernan Morillo & Dr Helen Morillo, Sycamore Dental has been part of the Bury St Edmunds community for more than two decades.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of caring for generations of local families, building lasting relationships with patients who have entrusted us with their dental care.
Today, we remain proudly independent, combining modern dentistry with the personal approach, continuity of care and commitment to our patients that have shaped the practice from the beginning.
The Story Behind Sycamore Dental
The practice was purpose built in 2001 on a site that once formed part of the former Grammar School, a familiar landmark in Bury St Edmunds. From the beginning, Hernan and Helen shared a vision of providing high-quality dentistry in a welcoming environment, with an emphasis on kindness, respect and clinical excellence.
As the practice grew, we expanded our facilities in 2009, adding an additional dental surgery and a more spacious waiting area to better accommodate our patients.
In 2023, we continued our investment in modern dental technology with the introduction of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), providing advanced three-dimensional imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
Today, Sycamore Dental remains committed to the principles on which it was founded: independent dentistry, continuity of care and a welcoming, patient-focused environment while maintaining the personal approach that has been central to the practice since 2002.
Our Ethos
When Hernan and Helen founded Sycamore Dental, they wanted to create something lasting: a practice rooted in the local community, where patients would feel comfortable returning year after year and where the dental team could get to know the people and families they cared for.
Since opening in 2002, the practice has grown and developed, welcoming new colleagues, investing in modern dental technology and broadening the range of treatments available to our patients.
Throughout that time, we have remained independently owned. It allows us to preserve the personal approach and continuity of care that have characterised Sycamore Dental from the beginning.
For us, being a family-run practice is reflected in the relationships we build, the friendliness of our team and the way we welcome patients to the practice.
